Bag Manufacturer FAQ

Are you a factory or a trading company?

We are a manufacturer — a direct source factory, not a trading company. Jinhua Tuocheng Luggage Co., Ltd. has been manufacturing bags and luggage in-house for 17 years, with our own production lines, sample room, and QC team in Jinhua, Zhejiang. Because you are buying straight from the factory floor, you get source-factory pricing, direct communication with the people who actually make your bags, and full control over quality at every stage — no middleman markup, no information gaps.

What is your OEM/ODM customization process, step by step?

Our customization process runs in five clear steps: inquiry and spec review, sampling, sample approval, bulk production, and pre-shipment inspection. First, you send us your design files, reference samples, or a written spec (material, size, color, logo, packaging), and our team confirms feasibility and quotes within 24–48 hours. Second, we develop a pre-production sample for your approval. Third, once you sign off on the sample and pay the deposit, we move to bulk production. Fourth, our QC team inspects every order before shipment and shares the inspection report with you. Fifth, we arrange shipping per your Incoterms. For OEM, we produce to your exact specifications and brand; for ODM, we can also recommend proven existing designs and modify them to your needs — ideal for buyers who want to move fast with a lower initial investment.

What are your payment terms?

Our standard payment terms are 30% T/T deposit with the 70% balance due against a copy of the Bill of Lading. This structure protects both sides: the deposit secures your production slot and materials, and the balance is only released once the goods are loaded and the B/L is issued. For sample fees only, we also accept PayPal to make sampling fast and convenient. We can discuss other terms for long-term partners and repeat orders — just tell us your preferred structure during the inquiry.

How do you control quality, and what quality guarantee do you offer?

Every order goes through a strict pre-shipment quality inspection before it leaves our factory, and you receive the inspection report before the balance payment. Our in-house QC team checks materials, stitching, zippers and hardware, dimensions, logo accuracy, and packaging against the approved sample and spec sheet. We also run in-line checks during production so issues are caught early rather than at the end. If any defect is found that falls outside the agreed AQL standard, we will rework or replace the affected units before shipment — our goal is zero surprises when your container arrives.

What is your sample policy — cost, lead time, and is it refundable?

We charge a sample fee, and that fee is fully refundable against your first bulk order. Standard sample lead time is 5–10 working days after we receive your specs and sample payment, depending on complexity (custom logo, new materials, or a brand-new ODM design may take slightly longer). Sample fees are paid via PayPal for speed. Once you place a bulk order meeting our MOQ, the sample cost is credited back to your order — so sampling effectively costs you nothing when you move forward with production.

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Our MOQ starts as low as 50 pieces per style and color, which lets you test the market with minimal risk. As a source factory we can be flexible on MOQ depending on the material, logo method, and whether you choose an existing ODM design or a fully custom OEM build. Lower MOQs are ideal for new brands, Amazon sellers, and buyers running trial orders; for larger volumes we scale pricing accordingly. Tell us your target quantity and we will confirm the best possible MOQ and unit price for your project.

Can you customize our logo and packaging?

Yes — we support full logo and packaging customization, including woven labels, printed logos, metal badges, embroidery, custom hangtags, polybags, and retail-ready gift boxes. Logo method depends on material and budget: printing, embroidery, metal plate, or debossed leather patch are all available. We will confirm artwork placement and packaging specs on the pre-production sample so what you approve is exactly what gets mass-produced. Custom packaging is a strong brand differentiator, and we handle it in-house to keep lead times short.

What is your production lead time, broken down by stage?

Our total lead time is typically 35–50 days from deposit to shipment, broken down into four stages: sampling, material sourcing, pre-production sample (PPS) confirmation, and bulk production. Here is the realistic breakdown so you can plan your launch with confidence:

1. Sampling stage: 5–10 working days. This starts once we receive your specs, artwork, and sample payment. Simple logo customization on an existing design is on the faster end; a brand-new ODM design or new material development takes the longer end.

2. Material sourcing / inbound stage: 7–15 days. This runs partly in parallel with sampling. Standard fabrics, zippers, and hardware we stock or source quickly; custom-dyed fabric, custom-printed material, or special hardware can take longer. We confirm material lead time in writing at order confirmation so there are no surprises.

3. Pre-production sample (PPS) confirmation: 3–5 days. After you approve the development sample and pay the deposit, we make the PPS with your final logo and packaging and send it for your written sign-off. Bulk production does not start until you approve the PPS in writing — this protects both sides.

4. Bulk production: 25–35 days. This clock starts the day your PPS is approved and the deposit is confirmed. It covers cutting, sewing, logo application, assembly, in-line QC, final pre-shipment inspection, and packing. Larger volumes or multi-SKU orders may extend this stage; we will confirm the exact schedule in your order confirmation.

What happens if you cannot deliver on time?

If a delay risk appears, we notify you immediately with the cause and a revised date — we do not wait until the deadline to tell you. Our commitment is proactive communication plus a concrete recovery plan, not excuses. Here is how we handle it:

1. Early warning. Our production team reviews order status weekly, and if any stage is at risk (material delay, capacity conflict, QC rework), your sales contact alerts you in writing as soon as the risk is identified, with the reason and the revised ship date.

2. Recovery options. Depending on the cause, we can split the shipment (ship finished SKUs first, balance later), add production shifts or prioritize your order on the line, switch to a faster material source at our cost if the delay is on our side, or upgrade the shipping method (sea to air/express) to protect your launch date.

3. Accountability. If the delay is caused by our factory, we absorb reasonable expediting costs and will discuss a fair compensation or discount on the affected order. We put the agreed delivery date and any penalty terms in the contract up front, so accountability is written, not verbal.

4. Buffer planning. For time-sensitive orders, we recommend building a 7–10 day buffer into your schedule and booking shipping space early. Tell us your hard deadline at inquiry stage and we will flag it on the order and plan backward from it.

What are your shipping methods and lead times?

Bulk production lead time is typically 25–35 days after sample approval and deposit receipt, and we ship by sea, air, or express depending on your timeline and budget. Sea freight (FOB Ningbo/Shanghai) is the most cost-effective for full containers and larger orders; air and express couriers are available for urgent or smaller shipments. We work with your forwarder or can recommend reliable partners, and we support FOB, CIF, and other Incoterms. We will confirm an exact production schedule in writing at order confirmation and keep you updated at each milestone.

Can I visit your factory or do you offer virtual factory tours?

Yes — you are welcome to visit our factory in Jinhua, Zhejiang, and we also offer live virtual factory tours via video call for overseas buyers. A factory visit lets you see our production lines, sample room, and QC process firsthand, and we can arrange a meeting to review your project in person. For buyers who cannot travel, a scheduled video walkthrough is the next best thing — you see the real facility, not stock photos. Either way, transparency is central to how we work with long-term partners.
